Nashville Predators Week: Forsberg Finishes But Frustration Abounds

It was a four goal, five point week for FIlip Forsberg but without a win to show for it, frustration abounds for the Nashville Predators.

The Predators wrapped up their five game road trip this week with games against the Calgary Flames and Winnipeg Jets before they opened a long home stand Saturday night against the Arizona Coyotes. Despite some good periods of play, the Preds couldn't collect any points in those three games.

Head coach Andrew Brunette was up front about his disappointment in the team's performance on Tuesday night against the Flames.

Kyle Connor's hat trick in the game against Central Division rival Winnipeg Jets added to the team's frustration.

Filip Forsberg had a good offensive game in Winnipeg, but it wasn't enough to get Nashville a win.

Forsberg continued to finish on his offensive chances in Saturday night's game back home at Bridgestone Arena against another Central Division team, the Arizona Coyotes. The Preds got off to a hot start, but mistakes and a sloppy second period cost Nashville a chance to move up from the bottom of the standings.

One bright spot Saturday night was the return of Cody Glass to the lineup. Glass was injured on October 19 and missed eight games before returning to the ice against the Coyotes. His return was questionable right up until game time when he took the ice for warm ups.

The Preds generated and finished on offensive chances against the Coyotes, but the inability to clean up mistakes had the locker room feeling very frustrated after the loss.

Ryan O'Reilly accepted personal responsibility for his mistakes after the Arizona loss, but overall he has been such an important part of this Nashville reset.

While the Predators have had a week with a handful of good individual performances, so did several of the Predators' prospects. Sutter Muzzatti, Austin Roest, and Aiden Fink were later round 2023 draft picks, but they are each off to strong starts with their respective teams.

The Predators have extra practice time this week with just two games on the calendar — a Tuesday night matchup against the Anaheim Ducks and a Saturday showdown at home against Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks.
