The New Jersey Devils will host the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night at Prudential Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 P.M. Head coach Lindy Ruff said forward Erik Haula, who missed the team's last game with injury, should be good to go Wednesday night.

On Tuesday morning, the Bruins organization announced that former Devil Jesper Boqvist was recalled from the American Hockey League. After practice, Boston head coach Jim Montgomery asked why the Swede received the call-up.

"There's a lot of players that are playing well right now in Providence," said Montgomery. "A little bit is how well he's playing, and also, it's New Jersey, and that's where he played. I always find that guys dig in and want to show the other team why they could have kept them."

"He's very versatile. He can play anywhere, so that's another reason," he continued.

Ex-Devil Pavel Zacha and defenseman Charlie McAvoy will not play for the Bruins as both are dealing with respective upper-body injuries and are listed as day-to-day.

"They're not going to be available," Montgomery said. "They're not game ready for (Wednesday)."

Devils vs. Bruins - Prudential Center

Last season, the Devils had a 0-3-0 record versus the Bruins. Per the media notes, The Bruins were one of four teams New Jersey failed to defeat in 2022-23 and the only Eastern Conference opponent that the Devils did not earn a win against last season. The last time New Jersey won against Boston was on May 4, 2021, a 4-3 overtime win, with Zacha scoring the game-winner.

The Bruins are first in the Atlantic Division (18-5-3). They are coming off a 5-3 victory over the Arizona Coyotes. David Pastrnak collected three points, and Linus Ullmark made 30 saves on 33 shots for Boston. Brad Marchand enters tonight's game on a four-game point streak (five goals, one assist).
