New Jersey Devils forward Curtis Lazar will not play against the New York Islanders Sunday evening.
MSGN host Erika Wachter reported the 29-year-old will be out with a lower-body injury that he sustained on Saturday night against the Ottawa Senators.
Lazar leads all forwards with 59 blocked shots this season. Through 66 games, he has amassed 21 points (six goals, 15 assists). He recently reached a new career-high in points, surpassing his total from the 2015-16 campaign when he was a member of the Senators.
New Jersey will deploy 11 forwards and seven defensemen against the Islanders with the following lines and pairs:
Timo Meier - Nico Hischier - Jesper Bratt
Jack Hughes - Erik Haula - Alexander Holtz
Ondrej Palat - Tomas Nosek - Dawson Mercer
Max Willman - Chris Tierney
Kevin Bahl - John Marino
Luke Hughes - Nick DeSimone
Brendan Smith - Simon Nemec
Santeri Hatakka
Puck drop between the Devils and Islanders is scheduled for 5:00 P.M. The game will be televised on MSG with Bill Spaulding handling play-by-play alongside analysts Ken Daneyko and Bryce Salvador.
