It is official: John Marino will return to the lineup for the New Jersey Devils for Thursday's game against the New York Rangers.

The blueliner has been dealing with an illness since the 2024 NHL Stadium Series.

During his 5:00 P.M. media availability, head coach Lindy Ruff said, "(Marino) skated this morning, and it looks like he'll be able to play. We'll still make it a game-time decision, but he felt a lot better."

Marino missed the team's last game against the Washington Capitals. It was the first contest he missed this season.

The 6-foot-1 defenseman has appeared in 54 games this season and has 19 points (four goals, 15 assists). He has predominately made up the team's second defensive pair with rookie Luke Hughes.

Against the Rangers, Colin Miller will come out of the lineup as the coaching staff will use the following pairs:

Luke Hughes - John Marino

Kevin Bahl -Simon Nemec

Jonas Siegenthaler - Brendan Smith

Puck drop between Devils and Rangers is at 7:08 P.M. The game will be broadcast on MSGSN. Bill Spaulding will handle play-by-play alongside analyst Ken Daneyko and host Erika Wachter.
