New Jersey Devils Tomas Tatar only played 3:04 against the Detroit Red Wings.
The New Jersey Devils lost a depth forward on Friday evening against the Detroit Red Wings.
Tomas Tatar sustained a lower-body injury and did not play in the second or third period. In the opening frame, the 33-year-old awkwardly fell into the boards attempting to hit Red Wings defenseman Justin Holl, but it is unclear if that caused his injury.
The winger played 3:04, earning one assist on New Jersey's second goal of the game.
Keefe did not provide an update on Tatar during his post-game press conference.
Tatar has nine points (three goals, six assists) in 26 games. He has been finding his offensive game, with four of those points earned over his last five games.
Shane Bowers is currently the only extra forward on New Jersey's roster. If no call-ups are made ahead of Saturday night's game against the Washington Capitals, the Devils will play a fourth line of Kurtis MacDermid, Justin Dowling, and Bowers.
