The red light went off, and Jesper Bratt was swarmed by his New Jersey Devils teammates.

With 5:12 remaining in the game, the Swedish winger scored shorthanded into the empty net, completing his hat trick. Standing in front of his bench, he was embraced by Stefan Noesen, Ondrej Palat, and Erik Haula, among others.

Bratt scored his first goal of the night with two seconds remaining in the first period to give New Jersey a 2-1 lead over Florida. It was a buzzer-beater on the power play as Carter Verhaeghe took a late slashing penalty.

He scored two more goals in the third period to lift his team to a 6-2 victory over the defending Stanley Cup Champions.

It marked his second career hat trick, the first coming against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Mar. 19, 2023.

Per NHL PR, "Jesper Bratt became the third player in Devils franchise history - and first in more than 30 years - to record an even-strength, power-play and shorthanded goal in the same game. The others: John MacLean (Feb. 25, 1991) and Peter Stastny (Dec. 29, 1991)."

"He has been really good," head coach Sheldon Keefe said. "Really consistent for me even when it is not going in the net. He does a lot of really good things for us."

In addition to Bratt's three goals, Noesen scored twice, and Dawson Mercer found the back of the net. Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier each earned three assists, and Jake Allen made 25 saves on 27 shots.
