Tomas Tatar has been ruled out of Saturday night's game between the New Jersey Devils and the Washington Capitals at Prudential Center.
"He is day-to-day," head coach Sheldon Keefe said. "Won't be available today."
The veteran winger was injured in the first period of Friday night's game against the Detroit Red Wings. He earned one assist, playing 3:04.
Keefe has recently praised Tatar, telling The Hockey News he is a tremendous teammate.
"He is all about the team. He has great confidence in (himself) and feels like he has more to offer the team and can take on a bigger role if provided, but at the same time, he has embraced what we have given him and hasn't changed his demeanor or his attitude every day."
Tatar has nine points (three goals, six assists) in 26 games. He has been finding his offensive game, with four of those points earned over his last five games.
Shane Bowers will draw back into the lineup. Fans can expect a fourth line of Kurtis MacDermid, Justin Dowling, and Bowers against the Capitals.
