The New Jersey Devils will start a busy week by hosting the Seattle Kraken on Monday night at Prudential Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 P.M. The team held a morning skate at 10:30 A.M.
Goaltender Vitek Vanecek will not be available to the team tonight. Head coach Lindy Ruff said Vanecek has been sick the past two days and is dealing with a lower-body injury. The club will have to recall a goalie from the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League.
The Devils have earned a 1-0-0 record against the Kraken this season. In their last meeting, New Jersey defeated Seattle by a score of 2-1 on Dec. 7, 2023, at Climate Pledge Arena. Ondrej Palat and Simon Nemec scored, while Akira Schmid made 37 saves on 38 shots.
The Kraken are sixth in the Pacific Division (21-20-10). They are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night. Vince Dunn earned two points, while Tomas Tatar scored his seventh goal of the season.
