On Thursday night, two familiar faces will be on the visitor's bench at Prudential Center when the New Jersey Devils host Tyler Toffoli, Colin Miller, and the Winnipeg Jets.
Both players were traded to the Jets at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline on March 8.
New Jersey received a fourth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft for Miller, a third-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, and a second-round pick in 2025 for Toffoli.
Toffoli is expected to play his 800th career NHL game when he returns to Newark.
"It's always fun to hit those personal milestones," Toffoli told Jets reporters. "For myself, people have always doubted me, saying I'm too slow and all that. I think I've done a pretty good job. So, knock on wood, 800 tomorrow, and I don't plan on stopping."
The veteran winger has performed well for the Jets since being acquired, collecting six points (four goals, two assists) in five games. Toffoli enters tonight's game on a three-game point streak.
Winnipeg did not hold a morning skate on Thursday. According to the Jets' website, Toffoli took line rushes at Wednesday's practice alongside Nikolaj Ehlers and Sean Monahan.
Toffoli potted a team-leading 26 goals as a Devil and had 44 points in 61 games.
Devils general manager Tom Fitzgerald said he is interested in speaking to Toffoli over the summer, as the winger is expected to become an unrestricted free agent.
"Tyler is a great kid. I would do that trade seven days, twice on Sunday over again," Fitzgerald said of trading for Toffoli. "He's our leading scorer. Great in the locker room. He's everything I thought he would be. A player that I have interest in the off-season if he's interested in New Jersey."
