Timo Meier's 200th career NHL goal propels the New Jersey Devils to a 3-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken.

Good things happen when a player goes to the net.
Early in the second period of Friday night's game, the Seattle Kraken attempted to get the puck to the blue line and out of their zone. New Jersey Devils defenseman Brenden Dillon intercepted the puck and passed it to Nico Hischier at the top of the circle. The captain quickly made a pass back to Dillon.
Their exchange allowed Timo Meier to get to the front of Seattle's crease.
Dillon's wrist shot made it through to goaltender Philipp Grubauer, but he was unable to hold onto the puck and stop the play. His defenseman, Vince Dunn, mishandled the puck, and Meier capitalized on his opponent's error.
The goal eventually became the game-winner in the Devils' 3-2 victory over the Kraken. Defenseman Luke Hughes and forward Jesper Bratt scored New Jersey's other goals.
"Maybe a puck bounced our way, but you have to earn those sometimes," Meier said. "[...] I looked back and it was a weird play. But you take those. It ended up being the game-winner."
It is his second game-winning goal this season.
It was a milestone as it became the 200th of Meier's career. The 28-year-old officially joined Nino Niederreiter as the only two Swiss-born players with 200 career goals.
"It's nice," Meier continued. "When you grow up in Switzerland and your dream is to play in the NHL. Time flies by, and the next thing you know, you score 200 goals. You reflect on that and realizing how nice it is to be in this position."
Meier has appeared in 118 games as a Devil and scored 46 goals. He has six points over his last five games, playing on a line with Hischier and Stefan Noesen.
