New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald spoke to the media at Development Camp on Wednesday. In addition to questions about the roster adjustments in the past few weeks, he was asked about the status of several key players, such as Jack Hughes and Dougie Hamilton.
At 14:39 of his presser, Fitzgerald was asked to provide an update on injuries. He said that Hamilton is at 100%, that he recently saw Jack at the NHL Awards Show, and that he's on track to be ready for training camp in September.
In a brief follow-up, he also mentioned that Timo Meier is in the same boat as Hughes and that he'll be ready for the fall.
Hamilton has not played since Nov. 28, 2023, because of a torn pectoral muscle which required surgery. However, he was the talk of social media on Tuesday with his classroom video about the upcoming 2024-25 schedule.
Jack Hughes didn't finish the regular season, opting for shoulder surgery in April. Meanwhile, Meier chose to undergo elective arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder.
The Devils appear to be a healthy group heading into the summer and should be chopping at the bit when training camp opens in September.
