This Devils forward was given a game misconduct for an illegal hit to the head.
During the New Jersey Devils' Feb. 2 contest against the Buffalo Sabres, Stefan Noesen was given a match penalty and game misconduct for an illegal hit to the head on star forward Tage Thompson.
Noesen's penalty occurred at the 5:11 mark of the third period. While Thompson was going for the puck, Noesen made direct contact with Thompson's head. Thompson was shaken up after the play and missed the remainder of the matchup.
The Devils did not surrender a goal to the Sabres during Noesen's penalty. Jack Hughes scored a short-handed goal during it to make the game 4-3, but the Devils were unable to tie the game from there.
Noesen, 31, has 18 goals, a new career high, to go along with 30 points and 98 hits this season.
