The Devils should consider targeting these three players from the Bruins.

The New Jersey Devils, one of the top teams in the NHL, will be buyers at the 2025 NHL trade deadline. One specific area they will look to improve is their forward depth

One team that could help them on that front is the Boston Bruins. Due to their ongoing struggles, there is a distinct possibility that they will be sellers at the deadline. The Bruins have some intriguing players that the Devils should consider targeting, so let's discuss three now.

    Morgan Geekie

The Devils could use an upgrade at the third-line center spot, and Morgan Geekie could provide them with just that. The 26-year-old forward is having a solid season with the Bruins, posting 11 goals and 22 points in 42 games thus far. He also has two goals and four points over his last three games.

Geekie also offers versatility, as he can play all three forward positions. Thus, if acquired, he could be a solid fit in the Devils' middle six.

    Trent Frederic

Trent Frederic is another Bruin who could make sense for the Devils. The 2016 first-round pick is a pending unrestricted free agent, and he is a prime trade candidate because of it. In 47 games this season, the 6-foot-3 forward has seven goals, 14 points, and 132 hits.

If the Devils acquired Frederic, he would have the potential to give their bottom six a nice boost. This is because he plays a very heavy game and contributes offensively, as his 18 goals and 40 points last season show. He also can play both down the middle and on the wing.

    Justin Brazeau

Justin Brazeau is another pending UFA on the Bruins who could be dealt. The 6-foot-6 winger is having a solid year for the Bruins, posting 10 goals, 20 points, and 73 hits in 45 contests this season.

Brazeau would be another decent option for the Devils' bottom six. In addition, due to his strong net-front presence ability, he would be a possible option for their power play. He also has a cheap $775,000 cap hit.
