The New Jersey Devils have added a handful of new players to their roster this summer. Among their most intriguing additions from this off-season is forward Evgenii Dadonov.

The Devils signed Dadonov to a one-year, $1 million contract, which includes bonuses, on July 1. While this was not one of the biggest signings of this off-season, it undoubtedly has the potential to be a good one for the Devils.

Dadonov is coming off a solid season with the Dallas Stars, recording 20 goals and 40 points in 80 games. With a campaign like this, the 36-year-old forward demonstrated with Dallas that he can still provide solid secondary scoring in a bottom-six role. With the Devils needing more offense from the bottom half of their lineup, he could end up being a perfect fit on their roster.

Due to his offensive skill, Dadonov will also offer the Devils another option to consider for their second power-play unit. Furthermore, his versatility should allow him to move up the Devils' lineup when injuries occur during the season.

Overall, it is hard not to find much to complain about when it comes to the Devils bringing in Dadonov. He is a solid offensive player, and the Devils were able to get him signed at a cheap price for one year. Thus, this is a very low-risk move for New Jersey, and it will be fascinating to see how much of an impact he can make with them from here.
