The Devils placed this defenseman on waivers.
According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the New Jersey Devils have placed defenseman Santeri Hatakka on waivers.
Hatakka's placement on waivers shows that the left-shot defenseman is ready to return to action after missing the first four months of the season due to shoulder surgery. However, before he can get his season started with the Utica Comets, he will need to clear waivers.
Hatakka, 24, appeared in 12 games last season with the Devils, posting two assists, 12 blocks, 14 hits, and a plus-5 rating. Down in the AHL with the Comets this past campaign, he had five goals and 20 points in 48 games.
