RALEIGH, N.C. -- The New Jersey Devils made some roster moves ahead of the team's Thursday night tilt against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Defenseman Daniil Misyul and forward Justin Dowling were recalled from the Utica Comets (American Hockey League).
Dowling has appeared in 98 career NHL games, suiting up for the Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks. His last game was on Feb. 9, 2022, as a member of the Canucks against the New York Islanders. This season, he has 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists) in 30 games with the Comets.
Misyul was selected by New Jersey 70th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-3 defenseman is in the middle of his first season with the Comets after spending the past two seasons playing for the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the KHL. This is his first NHL call-up.
It appears the Devils will get Ondrej Palat back tonight against the Hurricanes, but the team is still shorthanded. Nolan Foote, Dougie Hamilton, Jack Hughes, Tomas Nosek, Jonas Siegenthaler, and Brendan Smith are all dealing with injuries. At the same time, Michael McLeod and Cal Foote have been granted an indefinite leave of absence from the team.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 P.M. and will be telecast on MSGSN.
