According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the New Jersey Devils are signing former Edmonton Oilers forward Connor Brown to a four-year, $12 million contract. Starting next season, Brown will have a $3 million cap hit with the Devils.
With the Devils needing help in their bottom six and more secondary offensive production, it is understandable that they are signing Brown. He should be a solid addition to their forward group, as he is a smart two-way forward who can kill penalties and provide some depth scoring.
Brown appeared in 82 games this past season with the Edmonton Oilers, where he recorded 13 goals, 17 assists, 30 points, and a plus-9 rating.
