The New Jersey Devils made a notable move back in May, signing forward Arseni Gritsyuk to a one-year, entry-level contract. When noting that Gritsyuk is considered one of the Devils' most promising prospects, it was significant that they were able to get him officially signed.
Gritsyuk spent this past season in the KHL with SKA St. Petersburg and thrived. In 49 games with the KHL squad, he scored 17 goals and set new career highs with 27 assists, 44 points, and a plus-22 rating. He also had a solid post-season, recording five points in six games. This was after he had 19 goals and 38 points in 50 games with the KHL club in 2023-24.
With the Devils needing more secondary offensive production, now having Gritsyuk as an option for them next season is undoubredly good news. The 24-year-old winger should have a very good shot of landing a spot in the Devils' top nine. Furthermore, due to his offensive upside, he should get chances on their power play, too.
Ultimately, there is plenty to be excited about when it comes to Gritsyuk. The young forward has shown promise throughout his time in the KHL, and it is going to be fascinating to see what kind of year he has with the Devils in 2025-26 from here.
