A former New Jersey Devils defenseman has inked a new deal for the 2025-26 season.

The Utah Mammoth announced they signed Nick DeSimone, 30, to a one-year, $800,000 contract.

"We are very pleased to have Nick return to the Mammoth," said Bill Armstrong, general manager of the Mammoth, in the press release. "Nick adds a veteran presence to our blue line and is a good role model for our young team. He skates well, competes hard, and moves the puck effectively. We are excited to have him on our roster."

Utah claimed the blueliner off waivers from the Devils on Jan. 5, 2025, and reunited with former Devils teammate John Marino. DeSimone appeared in 20 games for the Mammoth and collected six points (one goal, five assists).

Desimone began his NHL career with the Calgary Flames in the 2022-23 season. The Devils claimed off waivers from the Flames on Jan. 25, 2024.
