Jay Leach has joined the Boston Bruins as an assistant coach.

On Wednesday evening, the Boston Bruins announced that former New Jersey Devils defenseman Jay Leach had joined their coaching staff.
"I'm thrilled to have Jay Leach join our coaching staff," Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery said. "Jay has an impressive track record at both the AHL and NHL level, and his experience connecting with players will greatly benefit our team."
Leach reunites with former Devils teammate Jamie Langenbrunner who serves as the Bruins' assistant general manager-player personnel. Both played for New Jersey during the 2008-09 and 2010-11 seasons. Leach appeared in 31 games for the Devils, earning one assist while averaging 14 minutes of ice time.
His coaching career began in Germany in 2014. One year later, Leach returned to North America and has since coached at both the American Hockey League (AHL) and NHL levels. This is his second coaching stint with the Boston Bruins organization, as he spent five seasons with the Providence Bruins of the AHL.
Per Boston's press release, Leach joins associate coach Joe Sacco, assistant coach Chris Kelly, video coordinator Mathew Myers, and assistant video coordinator Dan Darrow to complete Montgomery's coaching staff for the 2024-25 campaign.
