Former New Jersey Devils forward Ryane Clowe stepped down as assistant general manager for the San Jose Sharks over the weekend. Now, he has already found his next job, and it is with one of the Devils' biggest rivals.

The New York Rangers have announced that they have hired Clowe as their new assistant general manager.

Clowe is somebody who the Rangers already know incredibly well. Not only did Clowe play for them during the final portion of the 2012-13 season, but he was also a front office advisor for them from 2021-22 to 2023-24. Now, after spending one season as an assistant GM in San Jose, he is heading back to the Rangers organization.

Clowe will now look to help the Rangers get back on track after landing his new assistant GM job with them. The Rangers finished this past season with a 39-36-7 record and missed the playoffs.

In 409 career NHL games over 10 seasons split between the Sharks, Rangers, and Devils, Clowe recorded 112 goals, 197 assists, 309 points, 618 penalty minutes, and a plus-7 rating. He played his final two NHL seasons with the Devils, where he had eight goals, 22 assists, and 103 hits in 56 games played.
