One of the New Jersey Devils' top objectives this off-season was to shake up their bottom six. It is safe to say that they have done just that, as they have brought in new players and let some others go.

Evgenii Dadonov is among the Devils' newcomers, as the Metropolitan Division club signed him to a one-year, $1 million contract for the 2025-26 season. While some may view this as simply a move to improve the Devils' forward depth, Dadonov has the potential to make a big impact for New Jersey next season.

On a very good Dallas Stars club this past season, Dadonov quietly had a strong year, posting 20 goals and 40 points in 80 games. With numbers like these, the 36-year-old forward demonstrated that he can still provide solid secondary offensive production in the right role. This is something that the Devils undoubtedly need if they hope to be a more significant threat next season, so them bringing in Dadonov makes a ton of sense.

When looking at the Devils' current roster, Dadonov should be an excellent addition to their third line. In addition, because of his offensive ability, he will also be another option for the Devils to consider for their power play.

Throughout his career, Dadonov has been a impactful offensive contributor, and he has shown no signs of slowing down. Thus, it is hard not to like this move for the Devils, and it will be fascinating to see what kind of season he can put together in New Jersey from here.
