The New Jersey Devils called up defenseman Colton White from the American Hockey League.

NEWARK, N.J. -- Ahead of the New Jersey Devils morning skate on Thursday, the organization announced that veteran defenseman Colton White was recalled from the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League.

In a corresponding move, Nick DeSimone, who has been with the club since Nov 8, was assigned to the Comets on Wednesday morning. The 30-year-old served as the Devils' seventh defenseman and has not appeared in a game since Nov. 2 when he was with the Comets.

White serves as an alternate captain for the Comets. Through 20 games with Utica, White has eight points (one goal, seven assists), second-most among defensemen behind Seamus Casey.

White joins Justin Dowling as the other player on the Devils roster who began the 2024-25 season with the Comets.

The Devils will host the Los Angeles Kings Thursday night at Prudential Center and finish their five-game homestand on Saturday against the Chicago Blackhawks.
