John Jones-USA TODAY Sports - Devils' Hischier And Palat Score Again; Schmid Records Shutout In First Start Of The World Championship

Five New Jersey Devils players were in action today and each one found their way onto the scoresheet at the 2024 IIHF Men's World Championship.

Ondrej Palat scored and added an assist in Czechia's 7-4 win over Denmark. He recorded his second goal of the tournament and his fifth point. Czechia are now 2-1-1-0 and sit in second place in Group A.

Slovakia's 4-0 win over Poland helped them improve to 2-1-0-1. Nemec picked up an assist with a beautiful backdoor feed on former New Jersey Devil Tomas Tatar's goal. Nemec now has four assists in four games.

Nico Hischier and Switzerland keep on rolling after beating Great Britain 3-0. Hischier recorded his fourth goal in four games. Jonas Siegenthaler added another helper on Dean Kukan's goal. Akira Schmid recorded a shutout in his first start of the tournament. He wasn't overly busy making just 15 saves but he did what he needed to do to help Switzerland win. They now have a 3-1-0-0 record and are on top of Group A.

Tomorrow on Day 7 of the World Championship, Dawson Mercer and Luke Hughes will be back in action for their fourth game of the tournament. Hughes will look for to continue his strong play and help Team USA pick up the results they desperately need and Mercer will try to get his offensive game clicking.
