New Jersey Devils forward Jesper Bratt set a new career-high in points on Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins, registering a goal and bringing his total to 74 points. Nico Hischier and John Marino picked up the assists on Bratt's 25th goal of the season.
The Swedish all-star scored 73 points in each of the previous two seasons. This is also the highest his points-per-game has ever been. His previous highest was back in 2021-22, where he scored 73 points in 76 games. This season he did it in 75 games.
Bratt has also set career highs in assists, power-play points, hits, shots on goal, and time on ice.
The 25-year-old needs eight points in the last seven games to finish the season at a point-per-game pace for the first time in his career.
The young Swede is in the first year of an eight-year contract that was signed this past offseason. The contract sees Bratt making $7.875M a year. He also has a no-trade clause that kicks in next season.
Watching Bratt set new career highs in the first year of his contract extension is a great sign for things to come.
