Canada, Switzerland, Czechia and Sweden pick up wins in the quarter-finals of the 2024 IIHF Men's World Championship to advance to the semi-final on Saturday.

Canada came out flying against Slovakia and jumped to an early 2-0 lead. Dawson Mercer picked up an assist on Brandon Tanev's goal, which made it 5-1. With the game out of reach and Slovakia pushing to try and make a heroic comeback, Simon Nemec collected an assist on Slovakia's third goal of the game. With Slovakia's elimination, Nemec finishes the tournament with one goal and seven points in eight games.

Nico Hischier's excellent tournament carried into the knock-out rounds with a goal against Germany. He now has six goals in eight games. Jonas Siegenthaler returned to the lineup and picked up an assist on Hischier's goal.

The second Devils matchup was between Luke Hughes and Ondrej Palat. A low-scoring affair ended with Czechia beating Team USA 1-0. Neither Hughes nor Palat were able to register any points. Hughes' tournament comes to an end and he finished with two goals and five points in eight games.

The semi-final matchups are set with Canada and Switzerland facing off and the host nation Czechia taking on undefeated Sweden who narrowly escaped Finland in overtime. The Devils will have at least one player guaranteed to play for Gold on Sunday.
