On Jan. 30, the Devils announced that Jesper Bratt would replace Jack Hughes in the All-Star Game.

One minute, New Jersey Devils winger Jesper Bratt is on a boat enjoying the warm weather in Mexico with his teammates, and the next, he is walking the red carpet in Toronto at the NHL All-Star Weekend.
The 25-year-old Swede replaced his teammate Jack Hughes, who could not participate due to an upper-body injury.
"I'm very proud to have the chance to be here and experience this. I'm looking forward to a great weekend ahead," Bratt said to attending media in Toronto.
On Thursday night, the player draft took place.
Canadian singer Michael Bublé joined co-captains Jack and Quinn Hughes and assistant captain Elias Pettersson to draft their team.
After selecting Tampa Bay Lightning' Nikita Kucherov, Vancouver Canucks' Thatcher Demko, Winnipeg Jets' Kyle Connor, and Ottawa Senators Brady Tkachuk, Jack Hughes said, "From the New Jersey Devils, Jesper Bratt."
"I tried to give him a heads up and said, 'Hey, I don't want it to be like my first draft experience to have to wait that long, so if you see me there in the crowd, please pick me,'" Bratt said.
"I took Bratter. I wanted to take him," Hughes said. "Last year, he had a great year, and the year before, he burst the door open. It's three years of him playing at this level, and it's nice to see him get the recognition."
The All-Star Skills Competition took place on Saturday night at Scotiabank Arena. Bratt did not participate in any events as New York Islanders forward Mathew Barzal replaced Hughes.
Bratt spent the evening watching the events that included shooting accuracy and hardest shot from the bench with some of the other NHL All-Stars.
Sunday afternoon, he suited up alongside his new teammates in his Team Hughes jersey. Against Team Matthews, Bratt played on a line alongside Brock Boeser and J.T. Miller.
After the game, Devils reporter Catherine Bogart asked the winger about about playing on a team with Quinn Hughes and any similarities and differences he noticed between the three Hughes brothers.
"They're amazing players. It's cool to play with all of them. First thing you notice is their skating ability, their quickness, their smoothness," Bratt said. "When you look at Quinn and Luke compared to Jack, their strides are longer and Jack is pretty quick with more agility."
Team Hughes fell in the shootout to Team Matthews by a final score of 6-5.
Bratt and the rest of the Devils will return to RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House on Sunday afternoon for practice.
