EAST MEADOW, NY -- After earning their first road victory on Saturday night, the New York Islanders (4-2-1) return to Long Island and host the Detroit Red Wings (5-3-1) on Monday.
Puck drop at UBS Arena is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The Islanders visited the Columbus Blue Jackets over the weekend, earning a 2-0 win at Nationwide Arena.
Kyle Palmieri and Matt Martin scored goals in the bookend periods, while Semyon Varlamov silenced the cannon, earning a 34-save shutout.

Scott Mayfield did take part in morning skate, his first time back on the ice with his teammates since Oct. 20, but will miss his seventh-straight game with a lower-body injury.
"It's positive. There's no question," Islanders head coach Lane Lambert said. "We've been saying he's day-to-day for a while, and he has been. To get him back into the mix a little bit and get him accustomed to sort of uncontrolled situations is a good thing for him."
"Still the same time frame but closer."
The Red Wings did hold an optional morning skate, as Ville Husso was named the starter. He's 3-2-1 on the season, with a 3.33 GAA and an .894 SV%.
