Thursday afternoon, the New York Islanders announced that Bryan Marshall had been named the team's Director of Player Performance.

Marshall will oversee all levels of the organization's strength and conditioning program.

Additionally, the Islanders announced that Andrew Kacsor has been named Strength and Conditioning Coach and will work alongside current Strength and Conditioning Coach, Joe Erdos.

Marshall, who is the founder and program director of Milo Athletics, has worked with Matthew Schaefer, Calgary Flames star Nazem Kadri, New York Rangers forward Will Cuyle, among many other NHLers.

Both Kacsor and Marshall have deep connections with Bo Horvat.

In a statement released to the public, Islanders' General Manager Mathieu Darche praised the hires.

"Bryan and Andrew are outstanding additions to our performance staff," Darche said. "Bryan's track record of developing elite athletes at every level of the player’s development process, combined with Andrew's training and approach to athlete development, gives us real depth in this department. Alongside Joe Erdos, they'll form a group we're confident will not only prepare our players to be strong and ready to compete over the course of a season but allow them to have great careers."
