The current Ranger is shattering records and ascending in the history books.

Chris Kreider scored his 8th goal of the season tonight, a tip-in effort to tie the game against the Minnesota Wild.

Goal number 273 surpassed the legendary Andy Bathgate for the 4th most goals in Rangers history.

Kreider, 32, has played with the New York Rangers his entire 12-season career, skating in 744 regular season games (13th in NYR history) and 107 playoff games (3rd in NYR history).

He was drafted by New York 19th overall in the 2009 NHL draft and stepped into the league straight out of the NCAA to help the Rangers reach the 2012 ECF. The Boxford, Massachusetts native played an integral role in the club's Stanley Cup Final appearance in 2014. In the last number of seasons, he has become the heart and soul of the team.

The player he passed, Andy Bathgate, was a Rangers icon. He played 12 seasons in New York from 1952-1964 and his number 9 was retired on February 22nd, 2009 by the organization. Bathgate was the face of the franchise, going toe to toe with the superstars of his era, Gordie Howe and Maurice Richard.

Kreider holds many other club records, he is 1st all-time in playoff goals (40),  5th in power-play goals, and 6th in game-winning goals. He continues to shatter records as he ascends in the history books.
