The New York Rangers (29-15-3) host the Vegas Golden Knights (28-14-6) tonight at 7:00 p.m. (EST). 

It will be the second matchup between the two clubs in the last week. The Rangers lost to the Golden Knights in Las Vegas 5-1 on Jan.18. 

The Blueshirts went 1-2-1 on their Pacific road trip, where they lost their most recent contest to the San Jose Sharks 3-2 in overtime.

Following tonight's game, the Rangers travel to Ottawa to take on the Senators tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. (EST). 

Morning Skate Updates: The Rangers skated today at the Madison Square Garden.  Igor Shesterkin (19-11-1, 2.82 GAA, .901 SV%) is expected to start tonight according to Dan Rosen of NHL.com. 

Filip Chytil sustained an injury at the practice and needed help leaving the ice. More information will be reported as details become available.

Rangers Notes: The New York Rangers are 4-6-2 in January and 13-11-2 since Dec. 1. In their four-game Pacific road trip, the club came away 1-2-1, losing to the Golden Knights, L.A Kings, San Jose Sharks. 

Vincent Trocheck recorded his three-hundredth career assist and thirtieth assist of the season against the Sharks. 

No. 16 was recently added to the 2024 NHL All-Star Weekend. He leads the NHL with 62% faceoff win percentage, (min.700 draws), and has 45 points (15 goals, 30 assists) in 47 games this season. 

The Rangers are 15-6-0 at home and have won three of their last four contests at Madison Square Garden. Against the Golden Knights, the Rangers have points in four of their last five matches.

Golden Knights Notes: Adin Hill (11-2-2, 1.93 GAA, .935 SV% ) returned for the Golden Knights and started in his first game since Dec. 17 on Tuesday against the New York  Islanders. 

The club still has six skaters on the IR, including Shea Theodore, Jack Eichel, and William Karlsson. 

Ivan Barbashev, who recorded two goals against the Rangers on Jan. 18, comes into the contest with five points (one goal, four assists), in the last three games. 

The Golden Knights are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games.
