The New York Rangers (28-15-2) play against the Anaheim Ducks (15-29-1). 

The Ducks enter the contest with one win in their last five games, and the Rangers have lost the last two games of their four-game road trip.  

Both teams are playing in the second half of a back-to-back. The Ducks lost to the San Jose Sharks 5-3, never holding the lead against their lowly divisional rival. 

The Rangers come off their second loss in a row, struggling to capitalize on their chances against the Kings in a 2-1 loss Saturday night. 

Morning Skate Updates: The Rangers did not skate today as they have played three matches in four days. 

Igor Shesterkin (18-11-0, 2.84 GAA, .902 SV%) will get the start in the second game of a back-to-back according to Vince Mergacliano of USA Today Network. Shesterkin is 2-3 in his last five starts, allowing 16 goals in that span. 

Mercagliano also reported that Erik Gustafsson will be a game-time decision for tonight. He sat out on Saturday with a lower-body injury.

Rangers Notes: The Rangers have started their four-game Pacific road trip losing on Jan.18th to the Vegas Golden Knights 5-1 and the L.A Kings last night 2-1. 

The same struggles have handcuffed the Blueshirts, who are 2-5-1 in their last eight contests. 

Ducks Notes: The Anaheim Ducks have several injuries that have handicapped the team from reaching its full potential. 

Trevor Zegras, Max Jones, Pavel Mintyukov, and Alex Killorn are all out of the lineup. 

Former New York Ranger Frank Vatrano leads the Ducks with 33 points (21 goals, 12 assists). 

Artemi Panarins' former linemate,  Ryan Strome, is fifth on the Ducks with 23 points (five goals, 18 assists). 

The 30-year-old forward spent four seasons in New York, playing in 263 regular season games and 22 playoff contests with the Rangers.
