Remember when J.T. Miller was a New York Ranger? What a bad move that was when they traded him. The Rangers play the underrated superstar tonight as the Canucks all-star looks to punish his former team on the scoreboard (again).

When J.T. Miller was a Ranger, he was constantly in the dog house as a young skater under head coach Alain Vigneault. A breakout season couldn't keep him in New York, as Miller was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and then to the Vancouver Canucks in 2019.

On November 2nd, 2021 the New York Rangers took a 2-0 lead over Vancouver into the third period of play. Lo and behold, the former Blueshirt, tallied the game-tying goal two minutes into the third frame. To make matters worse, he capped off his revenge game with a wrap-around overtime goal.

Miller has performed to the level of a superstar in his Canucks tenure, posting a 99-point year in the 2021-2022 season. That's more points in a single-season campaign than megastar Artemi Panarin has posted in any of his five seasons as a Ranger.

Despite his frustrations with the team's results, he inked a long-term 7-year 8-million-dollar deal to stay.

The toss-in piece sent to Tampa headlined by Ryan McDonagh is now the pinnacle forward for the NHL franchise they face tonight.
