When looking at their roster for the matchup, it is clear that Noah Laba is a player who fans should be paying extra close attention to.
Laba has impressed this preseason, and it has now made him a candidate to watch for their NHL roster because of it. While speaking to reporters, including The Athletic's Vince Z. Mercogliano, Rangers head coach Mike Sullivan said Laba is one of the players in the mix for the Rangers' third-line center spot.
With this, there is no question that Laba is standing out so far this preseason. If he puts together another strong game for the Rangers against the Islanders, it could increase his odds of making the Blueshirts' roster out of training camp.
Laba completed his final season with Colorado College in 2024-25, where he recorded 10 goals and 26 points in 29 games. Following this, he signed his entry-level contract with the Rangers and finished the season in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack. In 11 games with the AHL squad after signing his ELC, he recorded three goals and five points.
It will now be interesting to see how Laba performs as the preseason continues. There is no question that he is a fascinating player to keep an eye on from here.
