Following the Rangers' win over the Sharks, Barclay Goodrow downplayed his summer fiasco.

Barclay Goodrow made his highly anticipated return to Madison Square Garden on Thursday night after everything that went down between him and the New York Rangers.

The night was capped off with a 3-1 victory for the Rangers over the San Jose Sharks, but there was more to the story.

The Rangers waived Goodrow over the summer, which caused a lot of drama and rumors about how Goodrow really felt about the whole situation and how it was handled.

The 31-year-old forward was on record before this game saying that he was surprised about the move to waive him and didn’t really get any inclination that he would not be returning to New York.

Following the Rangers’ victory against the Sharks, Goodrow downplayed his feelings and emotions.

“I mean, I don't think it really matters. I think that's been done for a while,” Goodrow said about getting the game against his former team out of the way.

The Sharks claimed Goodrow almost immediately after being let go by the Rangers.

According to The New York Posts’ Larry Brooks, Goodrow was not happy about how this whole situation unfolded. Brooks reported there is a belief that Goodrow included the Sharks on his 15-team, no-trade list.

Now all of that is behind Goodrow though and he’s ready to fully move onto his new chapter in San Jose.
