Chris Kreider’s 15-team no-trade list has been a question looming around how it can impact his future.
With the New York Rangers in advanced discussions with the Anaheim Ducks regarding a trade involving Chris Kreider, more questions have arisen if Anaheim is a destination he’ll be comfortable going to especially after it came out that the Ducks are on his 15-team no-trade list.
There's Reportedly A Good Chance Chris Kreider Gets Traded To The Ducks Today
The wheels are in motion between the New York Rangers and Anaheim Ducks regarding a Chris Kreider trade.
Well, that speculation can be put to bed.
“I'm told that Kreider's camp had informed Drury he would be amenable to going to Anaheim before negotiations began,” Larry Brooks of The New York Post wrote via X. “After being informed last night of the prospective deal, Kreider is now processing it all and going through his due diligence before he signs off on it. There is no separation here between Kreider and NYR.”
Trade talks seem to be progressing and ESPN’s Emily Kaplan even reported that a deal can be completed as early as today.
What's the framework of this potential deal exactly?
According to Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today, the framework of the trade if it were to be completed is a prospect and a pick coming back to the Rangers with the Ducks taking Kreider’s full $6.5M AAV.
A split between the Blueshirts and the veteran forward has been speculated for months since Rangers president and general manager Chris Drury sent out a league-wide memo indicating his desire to shake up the roster in November while specifically mentioning Kreider's name.
Jacob Trouba was also traded from New York to Anaheim in December as it appears that Kreider’s fate will be the same if these discussions continue to progress.
