Dennis Schneidler-Imagn ImagesIn his "Retooling The Rangers" letter to the fans, Chris Drury emphasized that next year's Rangers model will be younger and faster.
Or something like that, depending on the weather and pursestrings. Then again, can anything get worse than this latest puck chasing pushcart?
To achieve success, Drury must give – in order to get – in the No Mercy HL.
In the "Giving" Department, Drury could eschew Alexis Lafrenière and Adam Edström or his equally tall valet, Matt Rempe. Somebody might see the good for getting them.
The Maven is hesitant to give up on Will Cuylle because he brings muscle and looked so good in 2024-25. Reluctantly, The Maven is giving him a one-year pardon; he still could be a savior.
More important to me, as assets, are Noah Laba and Gabe Perreault, both of whom are supposed to infuse life into the team. (Which they did from time to time but there were too many gaps in between. However they still have time on their side. Not so much for Brennan Othmann.)
They'll all get homestretch time to convince the general staff that there's more than dribble goals on their sticks.
From a purely trading standpoint, there's not a whole heckuva lot of Grade A material to offer beyond the true leader of this team, Vinnie Trocheck.
