Jimmy Vesey is back practicing with the Rangers as he continues to recover from a lower-body injury.

The return of Jimmy Vesey to the New York Rangers lineup is coming very soon.

During a practice in training camp, Vesey went down and was laboring in pain on the ice as he quickly limped his way back into the locker room.

It was later determined that Vesey had sustained a lower-body injury as he was placed on long-term injured reserve.

By rule of LTIR, Vesey automatically will miss New York’s first 10 games, but there is reason to believe he’ll be back sooner rather than later.

The 31-year-old forward has been a full participant at practice recently and is no longer wearing a non-contact jersey.

Vesey made the trip to Washington with the team, indicating that he’s gearing up to make a comeback shortly after the Rangers play their tenth game on Friday night.

Last season, Vesey recorded 13 goals, 13 assists and 26 points in 80 games while averaging 12:23 minutes.
