The New York Rangers are bringing back Louis Domingue on a one-year extension.
The New York Rangers announced their goaltending plans for the 2024-25 season on March 3 by re-signing backup Jonathan Quick to a one-year extension.
They've also made sure that their depth was taken care of, inking Louis Domingue to a one-year extension on Sunday morning:
Domingue has played just one game for the Rangers since signing a two-year deal worth $1.5 million in the summer of 2022. He beat the Minnesota Wild 4-1 after a 25-save performance.
The 32-year-old played 69 games for the Hartford Wolfpack, the Rangers AHL affiliate, posting a 2.51 GAA and a .911 SV% in 45 starts during the 2022-23 season before a 2.56 GAA and a .910 SV% in 24 appearances this season.
Domingue has split the crease more evenly with goalie prospect Dylan Garand this season, mentoring the 21-year-old.
The Wolfpack are 29-17-6-2 on the season, holding down a playoff spot as they sit fourth in the Atlantic Divsion with 18 games to go.
