The 22-year-old defender was sent back down to the Hartford Wolf Pack this morning.

New York Rangers defenseman Matthew Robertson was sent back down to the Hartford Wolf Pack this morning (per NYR PR).

The recall for a seventh defender was made when Erik Gustafsson did not play against the Los Angeles Kings.

But Gustaffson did return in their 5-2 win against the Anaheim Ducks, logging 15:55 minutes with two shots on goal.

The team's seventh defender, Zac Jones, stepped into Gustafsson's spot in the lineup, and the club needed an extra defender in case there was another injury.

The 22-year-old blueliner has recorded 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) in 32 games this season for the Rangers AHL affiliate club.

Robertson has appeared in 154 games for the Wolf Pack, recording 47 points (eight goals, 39 assists) over the last three seasons.
