It still boggles my mind that Marvin Aufrichtig, the son of a Brighton Beach grocer, eventually became Marv Albert sportscaster par excellence.
That same Albert became a family broadcasting patriarch after breaking in with Rangers radio in 1967.

By the 1982-83 NHL season three Albert brothers were simultaneously broadcasting the play-by-play action of NHL games.
Marv was handling Rangers home games for WNEW Radio. (He had been with the Rangers since 1967.)
Marv's kid brother, Steve, was play-by-play commentator for SportsChannel and also doing Devils games in 1982-83.
Mid-brother Al Albert did NHL games for USA Network and also teamed with The Maven to do Devils games for SportsChannel.
And now Marv's son, Kenny Albert, has reached the top as top play by play man for TNT Network's playoff games.
Take it from The Maven, these Alberts are not the product of nepotism. They've always been at the top, among the best at their profession!
