The Philadelphia Flyers wrap up their preseason game schedule at home against the New Jersey Devils, where both teams will be fielding more minor league rosters due to most of the Devils' NHL regulars being in Prague for the NHL Global Series.
Despite it not being a "dress rehearsal" game like originally anticipated, it will still be a way for the Flyers' higher-ups to evaluate the guys that might not make the NHL roster, but could very well be called up sometime during the season if they're needed.
The Flyers were never going to field a roster of NHL regulars once it was realized that the Devils' main players would be over in Prague, but there are still some names in this game group that fans will want to keep an eye on.
Anthony Richard, who has now played six of the Flyers' preseason games, has had a solid camp, and made a case for him being one of the first the team will want to call up if a spot opens up.
Hunter McDonald and Oliver Bonk, who have spent plenty of time being paired up during this camp, will have another game to continue building their chemistry and, with a more depleted Devils roster, might get a confidence booster after some quieter performances in recent games.

So while it may not be the NHL preview game that many were expecting when the preseason schedule was first announced, it will still be a valuable tool in evaluating where the AHL and junior hockey players stand after an intense training camp.
Assistant coach Darryl Williams, who will assume head coaching duties for this game, confirmed that goaltenders Ivan Fedotov and Alexei Kolosov will split the minutes for this game.
Kolosov will be looking to build on a solid Flyers debut against the New York Islanders, while Fedotov continues to build up his experience as he prepares for his first full NHL season.
With preseason officially wrapping up, the final round of Flyers roster cuts will be made very soon, and it will be interesting to see what direction the team decides to go in as Opening Night approaches.
Will they keep Jett Luchanko with the NHL squad after his excellent summer? Which AHL guys are first in line for a mid-season call-up, should the Flyers need to make one? Which players on their ELCs will get the nine-game audition at the top level? There has been plenty of talking points generated around this camp, and everyone is anxiously awaiting how the Flyers will answer them.
