Speaking about his goal—which he joked was a "surprise goal", and came after dealing with two broken sticks, Kuzmenko said, "It's a funny moment, a funny shift. I have a broken stick, I go, 'Whoa, okay,' and go to the bench...I say, 'Can you please, please give me a stick?' Travis [Konecny] made the pass to me and I see the broken stick and I say, 'No...' but then I see score is good!"
