USA continues it's 2024 World Junior Championship tournament with a game against Team Czechia.
Team USA has done well so far during the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship. They presently sit third in the tournament across both Group A and Group B teams.
USA defeated Norway 4-1 to kick off the tournament. Gavin Brindley scored two goals in that win. They followed that up with an 11-3 thumping of Switzerland yesterday.
Gavin Brindley.Philadelphia Flyers prospect Cutter Gauthier finished the game with four assists in 12:45 of ice time. He has five total points in the two games so far. Jimmy Snuggerud was the real hero of the game. He notched a hat trick, an assist, and seven shots in 13:07.
USA Can't Take Czechia For Granted
Czechia has been up and down with one loss and one win. They lost 6-2 to Slovakia and defeated Norway 8-1 the next day.
Buffalo Sabres prospect Jiri Kulich leads the way for Czechia with three goals and two assists for five total points. He has done quite well in the AHL this year producing at nearly a point per game pace. He has 16 goals and six assists for 22 points in 23 games.
His great play earned him a call up to the NHL in late November. He played 14:53 and fired off one shot on net in a November 25th game against the New Jersey Devils.
