Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Sam Ersson has been named to Team Sweden's roster for this year's upcoming Euro Hockey Tour.
The Euro Hockey Tour, which will take place in Czechia in May, is a tournament played between Sweden, Czechia, Switzerland, and Finland that is viewed as a warm-up of sorts for the IIHF World Championship. Players who perform well in the EHT have the opportunity to be selected for their country's roster for the World Championship.
This will be Ersson's first time representing Sweden on the senior level, having previously played for his country's World Junior Championship team in 2019.
Ersson finished his rookie NHL season having played 51 games, with 23 wins (including four shutouts), with 2.82 GAA and a .890 SV%.
The Euro Hockey Tour will take place from May 2-5, while the IIHF World Championship will follow shortly afterward, also in Czechia, from May 10-26.
