Earlier this week, NHL insider Frank Seravalli reported that the Calgary Flames are looking to acquire another center for their middle six. The Flames have had a hot start to the season and are done selling off their former top players, so they are now looking to be more competitive.

When looking at potential trading partners for the Flames, the Philadelphia Flyers could grab their attention.

With the Flyers rebuilding, several of their top players have been in the rumor mill in recent years. Centers Morgan Frost and Scott Laughton are undoubtedly two big examples, as both players created plenty of chatter leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline.

Frost, 25, is in the final season of his contract and will be a restricted free agent at the end of the campaign. In five games this season, the 2017 first-round pick has three assists and a minus-5 rating. When noting that he is still pretty young and has shown that he can produce offensively, he could be a player that grabs Calgary's attention.

Laughton, 30, is another Flyer who the Flames could keep an eye on. The veteran forward is under contract until the end of the 2025-26 season. In addition, his ability to provide decent secondary offensive production, physicality, and solid defensive play could make him a strong addition to a Flames club looking to be better.

Given this, it would make sense for the Flames to keep a close eye on the Flyers as they look to improve down the middle.
