As Denver Barkey heads back to the London Knights after spending the last couple of months watching the Philadelphia Flyers' training camp from the sidelines, he reflects on his recovery from illness and coming back a stronger player than before.

Former Philadelphia Flyers forward Tyler Pitlick has signed a professional tryout (PTO) contract with the Boston Bruins' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Providence Bruins.

Pitlick was invited to Providence's training camp at the beginning of October. Now, after signing this PTO, he will be sticking around with the AHL squad for at least a bit longer.

Pitlick had one goal, three assists, and 84 hits in 34 games last season with the New York Rangers. He also spent a decent chunk of last season with the Rangers' AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, where he had three goals and seven points in 22 games played.

Pitlick played for the Flyers during the 2019-20 season. In 63 games with Philly, the 6-foot-2 forward had eight goals, 20 points, 132 hits, and a plus-11 rating. His time with the Flyers ended when he signed a two-year, $3.5 million contract with the Arizona Coyotes during the 2020 NHL off-season.

It will now be interesting to see if Pitlick successfully earns at least an AHL contract for the season from the Bruins at least through this PTO from here.
