The Philadelphia Flyers forward will have to pay a fine for his actions in the game against the New Jersey Devils.

The Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils just played against each other in a spirited one goal game. The Devil's won that game 4-3 in overtime.

The game was not without drama. Garnet Hathaway levelled Luke Hughes with a hit that saw Hughes careen into the boards - while Hathaway received a game misconduct (in addition to other penalties).

Another incident happened during the game. After a whistle Brendan Smith and Travis Konecny were skating towards their respective benches. Konecny cross checks him, and Smith returns the favor with a two handed obvious (and dangerous) slash.

Both players will receive supplemental discipline. Konecny will be fined $5000 for his cross-check. Smith is suspended for two games for his slash on Konecny.

It's good for the Flyers that Konecny didn't face a suspension of any kind, as Konecny leads the team in goals (12) and points (18).
