The Philadelphia Flyers provided a much-anticipated update of defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen's upper-body injury on Thursday.
According to Flyers GM Danny Briere, Ristolainen underwent surgery to repair a ruptured triceps tendon. The procedure was performed by Dr. Keith Meister, the head orthopedic surgeon for the MLB's Texas Rangers.
Ristolainen received the procedure in Arlington, Texas and is expected to be out for three months, but will make a full recovery. He is expected to be available in time to participate in the Flyers' 2024 training camp.
The Finnish defenseman was officially placed on the Injury Reserve on Feb. 27, having only played 31 games of the 2023-24 season.
