The Philadelphia Flyers have one big positive from their slow start to the season.

The Philadelphia Flyers' start to the season has not been fun. At this juncture, they have a 1-4-1 record, and only the Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks have fewer points than them. While the Flyers are rebuilding, their poor start has naturally been frustrating.
While things have been rough for the Flyers, they have a big bright spot in star rookie Matvei Michkov. The 19-year-old winger has been excellent for the Flyers early on, and he is only continuing to stay hot.
In the Flyers' most recent 4-1 loss to the Washington Capitals, Michkov once again got on the scoresheet by recording an assist on Travis Sanheim's goal. With this, Michkov now has two goals and five points in his first six NHL games. It is hard to expect much better than that from the 2023 seventh-overall pick.

If Michkov continues to produce offensively so frequently, it will be a memorable year for the youngster. In addition, if he maintains his great start, he should be a big-time candidate for the Calder Memorial Trophy.
No matter what happens on that front, Michkov's future in Philly is looking remarkably bright.
